AC current ko jada se jada flow krne ke liye sirf wire mota krne se kaam nhi chalta Kyuki AC current me skin effect hota hai Changing frequency ki wajah se wire ke center me Eddy current banne lagta hai jo ki current ke flow ko oppose krta hai jisse AC current sirf wire ke outer core se transfer hota hai Inner core poora waste hota hai or ye directly depend hota hai voltage pe Iss liye AC current ko transfer krne le liye wire mota krne se better hota hai 1 se jada wores ka use kiya jaye Or comparatively patli wire handling or maintenance me bhi asaan hoti hai.

Yes you are correct!
For a 240v volts supply if we use a Varistor rated for 270v then the varistor will fail instantly. Since varistors are very sensitive they don't operate according to AC RMS values rather according to Peak Values of voltage. Say for a 240v RMS the peak voltage will be 339 v (peak) then a Varistor rated for 270 volts will breakdown immediately.
